The process of normalising is to set a peak loudness, or a range for all clips to match

This helps as a first step to get all your clips sounding relatively close to each other in terms of levels



To select all clips on a track - double click in the empty space of that track (in between two clips)

From the drop down menu at the top of screen select: Clip > Match Clip Loudness...

By default it will be set to ITU-R BS.1770-3 Loudness - This will give the best results based on perceived loudness

There are a number of other options for normalising from the drop down menu (Peak Amplitude would have been the old school method for normalising clips)

You will now see at the bottom left of each clip the amount of gain (dB) that each clip has been increased or decreased by

To make additional fine tuning changes, select an individual clip from the timeline

Go to the properties tab on the left of screen and make the changes under Basic Settings
