All first year Theatre Arts students are required to do a production placement of at least ten hours. Students will be assigned as crew for productions in their first classes and instructed to make contact with the director and/or stage manager of the show.
Although the first year student should initiate contact, the director, stage manager or senior crew member should follow up if contact isn’t initiated.
Make sure your crew knows when and where they are required, what they should wear or bring, and what work they will be asked to do.
Have well organised and meaningful work for your crew. The crew should participate fully.
You will need to sign off their timecards after each shift.
The crew are welcome and encouraged to contribute more than seven hours of work, but it is not required.
