2. Navigating Vista
After you have opened the Standard Rig and saved it as your own show, you will see a view like the one below.
In the top left corner of the screen, there are six buttons for different views of Vista. You can move between the views without changing the output on stage.
The first view is Patch. You will generally not need to use this view. It is used to tell Vista what equipment it is controlling.
The second view is Console. You will use it to assign your cuelist/s to a fader on the console.
The third view is Fixture Chooser. This is the main view you will work in to control lights and record or edit cues. In this view, we can select and control one or more lights.
The fourth view is Timeline. This view is used for advanced editing and will not be required for most lunchtime shows. In this view, you can control exactly when each event of a cue occurs, allowing very precise control. For example, you can assign fade times to individual lights. If you would like to learn more about Timeline view, chat to Karen.
The fifth view is Playback. In Playback view, you can see a list of all your cues. It is useful to have this view open when playing back cues, as you can see the cue number, name, timing, and any notes.
The sixth view is Fixture Output. This shows the output of each fixture in table form. You will not need to use this view.
