10. Editing cues

You will invariably make changes to the cues after plotting. You can make minor changes in the playback view. For changes to channels and levels, and inserting or deleting cues, you will need to open and edit the cue list.

Changes in the playback view

In the playback view, you can change the cue number, name, timing, playback action (Halt, Follow or Start), and notes. To make changes, double click on the displayed information and type the new information. Press enter or click away from the text box.

Opening the cue list

For all changes to channels and levels, and inserting or deleting cues, you need to open the cue list. Click Open at the top centre of the screen, and double-click your cue list (or single-click, then click OK).

You will now be working in the same view as when you plotted the cues.

Before navigating between cues, you will need to link the cues, so the cue displayed on the screen for editing is the cue you are seeing on stage. Click "Link" to tie the output to the displayed cue.

Making changes to the cue is the same as creating the cues - go into the desired cue, and make the look you want to see on stage. Remember to be mindful of tracking, and edit in Cue Only or tracking mode as appropriate.

Insert or delete cues following the method detailed in Programming in detail. Be mindful of how deleting cues can cause changes to track forward. The Cue Only version of deleting is to select "Preserve look" when prompted. The other option, "Normal Delete," will delete all the information in the cue, including information that tracks into the next cue.

When you have made all the desired changes, click Save, then close the cue list by clicking the cross displayed next to the name in the tab. Alternatively, you can first click the cross to close the cue list, and will be given the option to Save, Save & Release, Don't Save, or Cancel. If you chose not to save, your cue list will still exist, but the changes will not be applied.
