Can I use a Drone for Filming?
If you are considering shooting with a Drone or a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA), regardless of who owns the Drone, yourself or a commercial operator, you are required to book an appointment with the MCASI Production Office prior to shooting (during the pre-production stage). If you intend to use the aerial footage outside of Curtin (posting to the internet, in a Film Festival, broadcast, etc) you must comply with the instructions and standard operating conditions listed on the CASA website.
The MCASI Production Office will assist you in ensuring all your risk assessment and compliance documentation is in order.
