PrP - Working with Audio - Putting Effect on a Layer

If you’d like to apply a particular audio effect to a specific layer on the timeline, instead of dragging the effect onto each clip, follow the steps below:

Navigate to Window > Audio Track Mixer to open audio mixing panel.

2.png

An Audio Track Mixer will open.

The panel will consist of as many audio columns as your audio tracks. You can see the Audio Track number on the bottom of the panel corresponding to the timeline numbering (A1, A2, etc.).

If you’d like to change the name of a track for easier navigating, you can do so by clicking on the label ‘Audio X’.

Click on the arrow situated to the left of the panel to Show/Hide the Effects and Sends (access the Effects panel).

A drop down menu will appear allowing you to choose from a range of audio effects.

Choose the desired effect you want on the specific layer.

The effect will now show on the audio column.

The name of the effect on the top and the value/aspects on the bottom.

You can add multiple effects to a single audio track. To do so, click on one of the down arrows and choose another effect.

You can jump between the effects and their values by left-clicking on the respective ones.

You can also alter the value or aspects of the effects through the bottom panel. Click and hold, and move your mouse left or right to change the values or double-click the value and enter the desired amount.

To hide/show the effect click the circle 'fx' button in the top right corner of the bottom panel.

Make sure to have the desired effect selected!

To delete the effect from a layer, click on the down arrow and select None.
