We have curated a series of how-to videos for commonly forgotten things when working in the studio. These videos are simply a go to guide if you need a refresher on any of these printmaking basics. Make sure you have been inducted and signed off properly by one of the technicians.

Setting The Press

A guide on how to properly set the etching press for use with steel etching plates, drypoint plates and monoprint plates.

REMEMBER: When setting the press always make sure you do it slowly and in increments on each side so the mechanism is not damaged

Setting The Press With Runners

A continuation of the first “Setting the Press Video”, for using the press for printing woodblock and lino prints, aswell as any plates higher than etching or drypoint plates. The roller of the press needs to be set to the specific height of the plate you are using or you can damage the press, your plate and you will not have successful prints.
