Channel Strip Control and Processing

Gain/Pan/Assign knob. Usually assigned to Gain

SEL key: This will bring the channel or mix you select into the main screen, and the knobs to the side of the screen will then work on that channel

CUE: assigns the channel to the monitor mix so you can listen to it using the monitor speakers, and puts its level on the CUE LED meter next to the left and right meters. You should use this when setting the gain for a microphone or source.

Channel Meter: shows the signal level for the channel. This can be changed in the Meter section to show pre fader or post fader. They are normally set for Pre fader so you can always see when a signal is present. They are also coloured to indicate the transition from signal present to signal over. Over means clip, which is the max the channel can pass. At the -18 point, the led goes to orange, to indicate the nominal operating level for the channel. See

ON key: Turns the channel on and off. Same as mute on other consoles. This will also turn off the channel in any mix that it might be sent to as well.

Channel Label: Gives some information on the channel, like name, gain, physical channel number, fader level. This is context sensitive, so it will change depending on what function you are performing on the channel. We have tried to keep the naming simple and related to the actual input it belongs to. A-003 for instance is a physical input on the studio floor.

Channel Fader: Controls how much signal is sent through to the main mix or the sub mixes. Up is more, so "turn it up" corresponds to a higher fader level.
