Don't Need No Trash

ONLY IMPORT THE CLIPS YOU WANT FOR THE EDIT.

There's no point in importing clips that you won't be using. You'll be wasting your time, and cluttering up your bins.

Naming your clips...soooooo important!

A good naming convention is to start with a TLA (Two or Three Letter Acronym), ie. WS (Wide Shot), MWS (Medium Wide Shot) MCU (Medium Close Up), CU (Close Up), ECU (Extreme Close Up), INT (Interview), followed by a brief description of the shot. ie:

WS_Building208_GardenStudents

Notice the use of underscores instead of spaces and capital letters for each new word.

If you are using the Clapper to Slate Shots the naming convention would be 'Scene.Slate.Take' based on the information from the clapper board and the Continuity, Camera and Audio Reports, i.e.:

5.1.1

5.2.2

It can also be informative to add 'Description'. i.e:

5.1.1.ShotOfSomething

5.2.2.SomethingElse

This will now keep everything in script order and will make the editing process much easier to navigate.
