It cannot be stressed enough how important media management is to the success of a post production workflow - this all starts with efficient Datawrangling - the process of copying your camera and audio acquisition cards onto a server, in the case of Curtin, it is the Isilon (FTV) server.

Insert the media card into the card reader or the back of the iMac

Locate the media card on your desktop, and double click it to open it up.

Copy the entire contents of that card into a folder created on the server, see below as an example…

It is important that each card has it’s own, easily identifiable, folder inside the Media folder

If you have multiple media cards per shoot day and/or have recorded audio separately, see the Advanced Data Wrangling section.

NOTE: If you are importing media from a smart device (like an iPhone) go to this step
