AutoCue/320 Computer

The AutoCue Machine is also known as 320 (C-208-STO-P320)

This 320 has two main functions within the Control Room: 

  • Running the AutoCue for the cameras in the studio
  • The Keyboard, monitor and mouse under the stairs is a mirror of this machine

The 320 is found at the left hand side of the rack room, under the audio patches. 

The 320 is free to stay on during the week, however it should be turned off on weekends. 

The 320 is able to be accessed as a source from the Tricaster TC1. For example you can bring up the teleprompting software on the Tricaster so the rest of the Control Room crew can follow along.

To allow the AutoCue script to display on the Main Visual display in the Control Room, locate the NewTek NDI Tools within the list of Programs from the "Start Menu" of the PC.

Launch the program named Scan Converter.

This will now leave the icon as displayed left in the bottom right Toolbar of the VDU.

Launch the AutoCue program and before commencing the Prompter View, Right Click on the NDI icon in the Toolbar and Left Click on the word Desktop. This will now leave a symbol 'tick' beside it to indicate that Desktop is selected.

Start the Prompter view, this will now have the Desktop view appear via the Tricaster as an NDI signal.

The 320 runs the Autocue "QPro" software, in conjunction with two items, both of which are lonable from the MCASI Store:

  • 1x 2 Button USB Scroll Wheel
  • 1 x Wireless Foot Pedal

Both of these items are used to drive the Autocue software. The foot pedal is designed to be run down on the floor and the scroll wheel has the option to be run either up in the control room or down on the floor. 

QPro will be available to all users on the 320 which can be accessed upstairs or on the studio floor. 

The accessories can only be used with the Qpro software, if a student wishes to use other teleprompting software, they must be aware that they will have to use the keyboard and/or mouse to peform this.
