Printmaking Materials & Suppliers

Here you can find a list of materials and suppliers that may be useful to build up your own personal printmaking kit. It is important to start building up a set of tools and materials for yourself so you are not reliant on the technicians, as they may not always be on campus.

List of basic materials:

·    Masking tape

·    Piece of acetate

·    Stanley knife

·    Cutting mat

·    Metal ruler

·    Scissors

·    Paper (The paper we use is heavyweight paper (200GSM-310GSM) is best for etching)

·    Re-usable rubber gloves/pack disposable gloves

Specialised materials:

·    Ink roller/brayer

·    Etching ink (we use Gamblin etching ink)

·    Silk Screen (The mesh we use on our screens is 77T)

·    Etching needle

·    Squeegee
