The Zoom F8n Multi Track Field Recorders are portable field recorders with 8 inputs that records high resolution audio at up to 24-bits/192kHz. This unit also features a dual channel record mode. This fantastic metho utilises the below track (If you plug a microphone into input 1, track 5 will become your dual channel. Input 2 will enable track 6 will enable and so on) as a safety track. This is particularly useful for documentary and high risk scenes where distortion is likely as you can set the primary track to ideal levels, your dual channel can then be set slightly lower. The Zoom F8 requires AA batteries, AC power or a Sony BP-U battery (With included adapter) to run.
The Zoom F8 is available for loan in all 2nd and 3rd year Screen Arts units.

This Video Guide is to enable the ‘Generation’ of a Sound Report from the F8, provided you have done the appropriate Setup from the beginning of the Production Recording.
With the Zoom F8 and the F8N, it is recommended that as the Sound Recordist for your Production, that a detailed Sound Report Sheet is made from the Shoot to give quick and accurate information for the Editor to follow. This than passes all the relevant information required during the recording of each File.
This allows profesional conduct, in passing information to the Editor, so that there is no confusion as to which ‘Take’ to use for Vision.
See Right for access to the Report. This can then be printed off by you whenever you are ready for that next Production.
Zoom App for access
An App for Android and Apple are available for the F8N only if required. This will work on Iphone or Android phone.
This allows interactive text input for metadata entry and remote viewing of the Zoom F8N.
