1 - Booking Edit Suites

First Year: You can book the ground floor editing suites by visiting the MCASI Store where a staff member can book your preferred day(s) and time(s). In fairness to all students using the edit suites, there is a 4 hour limit per session. If your session is outside of the MCASI Store opening hours of 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday or on University Holidays, you will have to borrow a key from the store for access. You will need your student card when booking and collecting the key.

Note: Centrally timetabled units will have priority over other units during their tutorial time.

Second Year and Third Year: Bookings may be made at the MCASI Store or you can book it yourself online. You may only book the edit suite for a 4 hour session at a time. If your session is outside of the MCASI Store opening hours of 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday or on University Holidays, you will have to borrow a key from the store for access. You will need your student card when collecting the key. For instructions on how to book online, use the following guide:

  1. Log into siso.curtin.edu and select Make bookings

2. Select Rooms and select a date and time duration. Then select Search Assets.

3. Select Edit Suites then press the + icon on the edit suite of your choice. Select Book.

4. Booking confirmed. You will receive an email detailing your booking.

2 - Post-Production Bookings during Scheduled Class Time

Centrally timetabled units will have priority over other units during tutorial times and bookings are not required if you are editing during class.

3 - Post-Production Bookings for Non-Assessable Projects

As with equipment and studio facilities, post-production suites may be used for non-assessable projects undertaken by students in order to extend their skills and experience, and in certain circumstances, for commercial projects.

All requests to use the facilities for non-assessable student projects or commercial projects must be approved by an approving academic. Normally, editing and post-production will be undertaken as part of a project that has already been approved, and that project approval will cover post-production.

Normally, students wishing to book post-production facilities for a non-commercial project may do so provided that they meet certain conditions. As with any equipment or facility, student groups or others wishing to use our post-production suites must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the operation of the relevant system.

FOOD and DRINK

No food or drink is to be consumed in the MCASI Media Production Studio (Control Room & Studio Floor) or Edit Suites under any circumstances.
