1.2.C - Returning Equipment

1. Equipment should be returned in exactly the same state as when it was borrowed.  Please make note of how equipment is stored and packed, and make every effort to ensure equipment is returned in this state. Badly packed equipment can cause damage and unnecessary frustration to students using equipment after you. If returned equipment is dirty or packed badly MCASI Store staff can request students to clean or repack the equipment on the spot.

2. The signatory may assign responsibility for the return of equipment for which they have signed to another group member, but they must understand that they are still responsible for that equipment, and are ultimately liable should the equipment be lost or damaged prior to the scheduled return. It is therefore essential that any person assuming responsibility for returning equipment, particularly where equipment is booked out overnight, ensures that the equipment is kept in a secure environment. It should not, for example, be left in a vehicle, locked or otherwise, unless the vehicle itself is kept in a secure location, i.e. a locked garage.

MCCA Store Hours

Please note the MCASI Store hours for collection and return of equipment. MCASI Store opening hours may vary from day to day, and you should make yourself aware of the opening times on the day or days you are scheduled to return equipment. Should you be unable to return the equipment by the scheduled time, please contact the MCASI Store prior to the original return time, to organise alternative arrangements for its return.

The MCASI Store can be contacted by either calling the store directly on 9266 2609 and/or by emailing the MCASI Store.

Appropriate Footwear

Appropriate footwear MUST be worn at all times when working with equipment from the MCASI store, including collecting and returning equipment. The shoe MUST be ‘closed’, covering toes, heels and the foot to the ankle.

Anyone attempting to collect equipment without the appropriate footwear will be refused collection. Examples of inappropriate footwear include;

  • Thongs/Flip flops/ Sandals/Beach Shoes

  • Open-toed/open-backed shoes

  • Shoes with spiked/pointed heels

  • Pumps/Ballerinas

Racked by Doubt?

If you have any doubt on what footwear may be appropriate, please ask any member of the Creative Production Support Unit and/or your Academic.
