If working on campus you will not require a signed location agreement, however permission will still be needed for certain areas and you will need to state all intended locations in your Concept Proposal. If you require a particular room this will need to be booked on your behalf by the MCASI Production office via Room Bookings.

Yes, you will need to submit a Concept Proposal if doing a test shoot. Depending on the complexity of the test shoot a Risk Assessment may be required.

12. What is the difference between a Concept Proposal and a Risk Assessment?

The Project Proposal is made up of two parts, the Concept Proposal and the Risk Assessment (if required). The Concept Proposal is the first part and essentially outlines the main details of your project, and is the “premise' of your project. That is your idea/concept including details of what/who you intend to film, intended locations, talent and initial schedule. Your supervising academic may approve your Concept Approval as low risk, or may require that you complete a Risk Assessment. A Risk Assessment is the section where you provide detailed information and analyse the risks of each associated filming activity. Please refer to the MCASI Film Project Proposal overview for more information.
