Slate and Title Information In industry a program leader is added at the head of every program to give Bars & Tone for screening adjustments, identify the program and provide a countdown for accurate program start.The MCASI leader consist of three items with a total running length of 21 seconds:
The MCASI leader will start at 00:59:39:00, allowing a total of 21 seconds lead information, resulting in your program starting on the hour mark.The MCASI Ident Slate is created through a Slate Generator webform.Fill in, check or click the premade fields, drop-down items, check boxes, and radio buttons. All fields with a red asterisk must be filled out.If you're unsure of any of the information required, please ask your tutor.You should also insert a Credit sequence and the Curtin Logo at the end.Your credit Sequence should list all cast and crew, their respective roles, everybody else who contributed, and it should list your tutor as your Executive Producer. | |
Locate the SLATE GENERATORFill in the fields as required. All fields with an asterisk MUST be filled in.Follow the instructions in the Slate Generator, and make sure you have completed the required pages.More information here. Information on production music tracks | |
When the form has been filled out and submitted correctly, you will see a confirmation message. The Slate will now be emailed to you. | |
Once you have received the email from MCASI Slate containing the Ident Slate, you will need to take a screen shot of the information INSIDE THE BLACK BOX to add to your project.If you don’t see the Curtin logo in the box, please download pictures for this email prior to taking a screenshotOn a Mac, have the email window open. Press Shift+cmd+4. | |

Press the mouse button, drag it around the box. Once you release the mouse button the screenshot will be taken. | |
Screenshot is saved to the desktop under the filename "Screen Shot yyyy-mm-dd at h.mm.ss. AM/PM"Copy-paste this screenshot to the /wiki/spaces/CKB/pages/2583792. | |
Go back to PrP, open the Graphics bin, right-click and select Import...Locate the Slate Generator screenshot you just copy-pasted to your 'Extras' folder. | |
Double Click the screenshot file in the Project window to open it in the Source window.Any graphic file that is opened in the Source opens with a default IN and OUT set to 5 seconds.You can see the duration between your IN and your OUT by looking at the Timecode Duration Field in the bottom right corner of the Source window.Scale It Up If the scale requires to be scaled up a bit, go to the Project Panel, click the Effects Tab, open the 'Motion' section and drag the scale button up to 150 or so. | |

Click and drag the Ident slate screenshot from the Source window and into the Program panel.Press and hold the Command key (⌘) to change to Insert and drop the Ident slate screenshot between the Bars & Tone and start of programOnce the clip is on your timeline, you can check the running length of the Ident Slate by right clicking on it and looking at the 'Speed/Duration' section of the drop-down menu. | |
