SCST2009 - iPad - Garageband - Export Audio File

Below is the guide for exporting your audio file movie out of Garageband on the iPad, and transmit the movie file to iMovie so that you can insert it into your iMovie project, or to Dropbox so that you can save it.

Sign In to Wifi/Dropbox

PLEASE NOTE

You MUST sign in to Student WiFi on the iPad, and activate/sign-in to Dropbox, in order for the process below to work.

Do not forget to SIGN OUT of Dropbox and the WiFi before you return the iPad to the store.

After you have finished editing your audio file, go to the Garageband main window.

Tap the 'Select' button.

Locate the audio file you wish to copy to iMovie (or transmit to Dropbox).

Tap the 'Share' button.

From the pop-up menu, tap 'Open in...'.

Select 'Song' to generate an audio file that you can copy to iMovie or save to Dropbox.


Enter your audio file information, select your export setting, and tap 'Share'

To copy to iMovie, tap 'Copy to iMovie'.


The Audio file opens in iMovie.

To insert the track into a new iMovie project, tap 'Create New Movie'.

To insert the track into an iMovie work-in-progress, from the 'Last Edited' list, tap the iMovie project you want the track to be opened in.

The audio file is inserted as an audio track in the selected iMovie project timeline.

To copy the audio file to Dropbox, in the Share pop-up menu, tap 'Copy to Dropbox'.


Sign In to Wifi/Dropbox

The Audio file will now be transmitted to Dropbox.
