Supers / Lower Thirds
Step-by-step guide for adding supers for your talents name/title information.
In Premiere Pro - create a Bin called Supers
Double click the bin to open it Right click > Import... to import the super/lower third graphic Shortcut Double clicking inside of a bin = shortcut for importing files
Navigate to STUDENT_RESOURCES > Super/Lower Third > CurtinSuper_v1.aep and select OK
You are importing a live After Effects Composition Inside the Comps folder - select which version you want to use (I have chosen Name and Title for this exercise) Select OK
The file is now inside your project ready for editing
STOP! DO NOT USE the version you have imported, this is the template You will need to duplicate the file before using You will need to make a duplicate for every person you need to use a super for
Duplicate as many versions as you need and rename them accordingly Delete Template You can delete the template from your project once you have made your duplicates, this will remove any confussion
Double Click on each name you have created This will open that particular file in the Effect Controls panel in the Source window Change the Name and Title information
Create a new sequence for your Supers
Drag all your Supers onto the timeline Spacing Give space between your Supers so they don't automatically play before they're required
The red bars above the Supers (in the previous image) indicate that the clips need rendering Go to Sequence > Render OR select the Return button on the keyboard for the shortcut Make sure you Render! The Supers will not play if they have not been rendered
This is what a Name_Title Super looks like It will animate on and off screen over a 5 second period Have fun! |
