Recording Format

These are the Recording Formats based on the unit and the equipment, specifically for the camera used for the assignment.

RECORDING FORMAT 1

Sony PMW-300K1 XDCAM HD Camcorder

Check these settings when collecting camera equipment from the MCCA Store, and if they are different, please ask one of the technical staff or the MCCA Store for assistance in re-setting them to the above parameters.

It is recommended that recordings made on the Aaton are electronically scanned using these settings.



Editing and Post- Production

Students enrolled in Experimental Screens as part of a Film and Television major or minor will use MAC base Adobe Premiere Pro for editing and post-production.

Data-wrangling and Importing Media

Media is data-wrangled into an appropriate folder structure on the MCCA Isilon Server using the required card reader either in each Adobe Premiere Pro editing suite, or acquired from the MCCA Store, and subsequently imported into Premiere through the Project Browser Panel.

Each step in the process is detailed in the Adobe Premiere Pro Section.

Equipment Availability

All equipment associated with SCST2003

  • Maximum two day consecutive booking or over weekend loan

  • Booking MUST be made at least 24hours before collection

  • Access to equipment is always at the Supervising Tutor’s discretion

  • Any group returning equipment later then the nominated ‘return time’, risks the action being deemed as an unauthorised extension.

Academic Approval

To gain access to equipment students MUST present the appropriate Project Approval signed by their tutor and/or Unit Coordinator along with the relevant Risk Assessment documentation.
