Manual Connect to Isilon Server (PC)

MANUAL CONNECTION ONLY

This process is for manually connecting to the Isilon on a PC. To connect on a Mac see here

VPN Connection

You will need to connect to the Isilon via a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to be able to access content from off campus.

To establish a VPN, follow these instructions first.

On the PC desktop click the Windows Start button in the left hand corner, or click the Windows Key on the keyboard.

In the pop-up window, select and click the Connect To button.

In the pop-up window appearing in the lower right-hand corner of your screen, click the Open Network and Sharing Center link.

In the Network and Sharing Center window, click Tools from the toolbar, and select Map Network Drive... from the drop-down menu.

In the Map Network Drive window do the following:

Drive: assign a drive-letter for your connection, this can be any letter from the drop-down menu

Folder: type in \\son1.curtin.edu.au\ftv

If you want to automatically reconnect the next time you log-in (recommended), please ensure that the 'Reconnect at logon' box is checked.

Click Finish

The folders you have available will open in a new window. If not, go to My Computer and locate the drive you just assigned.

The amount of folders and the folder names will depend on what level of access you currently have on the Isilon server.

There are common folders that all users share.
