DDR Banks and Playlists

DDR is an acronym for Digital Disk Recorder.

The main feature of the TC-1 is that it has 2 media players (DDR's) with each player having 10 'work bins' to allocate your media into, for organising your playback of media.

The Control surface (Vision Switcher) has playback functions on it for the DDR's.

There is a separate remote panel to control the selection of the media clips by the D.A (Directors Assistant) or Playback operator. The unit is to the left of the TC-1 Control Surface panel.

This remote panel has the extra features of 'speed control' of playback if required and the ability to 'trim' the clips duration using the 'Mark In' and 'Mark Out' buttons as well as a Jog wheel to finely cue the desired clip for trimming.

To ingest clips into the DDR, Click on 'File' of the TC-1 Primary screen, then locate 'Import Media'. Once clicked on this, it then brings up the 'Import Bin' window. At the lower left of window, click on 'Add'. This will then bring up the Media Browser window. Again at lower left click on the Browse Tab to open up a PC 'Explorer' window. Navigate to the desired clip and click on it.

This then places the clip into the Import Bin with a thumbnail and the address of where the clip was selected. At the lower part of the window Check the box 'Add Clips to' by clicking on it. Next to that click on the Gear icon and then click on either DDR1 or DDR2, (the preferred DDR for playback)

The Record part of DDR is that the program output can be recorded to the Tricaster itself while you are in production. Once the production is complete, this media clip can then be imported back in the same way described above for playback or exported.
