Prp - Adding Bars & Tone 2.0
A program leader is added in industry to give Bars & Tone for screening adjustments, identify the program and provide a countdown for accurate program start.
The MCASI leader consists of three items with a total running length of 21 seconds.
Bars & Tone - running length 00:00:05:00 (5 seconds)
Ident Slate - running length 00:00:05:00 (5 seconds)
Universal Counting Leader - running length 00:00:11:00 (11 seconds)
You can find all three of these in your project panel within Premiere Pro.
The MCCA leader will start at 00:59:39:00, allowing a total of 21 seconds lead information, resulting in your program starting on the hour mark.
A ‘Bars & Tone’ clip is to be positioned at the start of your timeline.
In your project panel, head to your Graphics Bin. Right-click and select ‘New Item’ > ‘Bars and Tone…’
A ‘New Bars And Tone’ window will pop up.
Ensure the settings match your project - particularly focus on the width and height.
Click ‘OK’
This will generate a ‘Bars and Tone’ clip in the Graphics Bin.
Any graphic file generated in PrP is set to a default 5 seconds (it can be extended if required, however the Bars and Tone should stay at 5 seconds).
Click and drag the ‘Bars and Tone’ clip to your program panel and drop at the start of your timeline.
OR
Select the ‘Bars and Tone’ clip, right-click and select ‘Open in Source Monitor’.
The ‘Bars and Tone’ clip will now be open in your source monitor (panel).
Press ‘insert’ on the bottom line of options.
OR
Click the ‘home’ key on your keyboard to place your cursor at the beginning of your timeline.
Select the ‘Bars and Tone’ clip plus the comma key (,) on your keyboard to insert the clip into your timeline.
Once the ‘Bars and Tone’ clip is in your timeline, confirm it is at the correct running time by right-clicking, and selecting ‘Speed/Duration…’
