PrP - Adding Ident Slate 2.0
A production assignment without a correct MCASI Ident Slate will not be counted as completed and may not receive a mark.
A program leader is added in industry to give Bars & Tone for screening adjustments, identify the program and provide a countdown for accurate program start.
The MCCA leader consists of three items with a total running length of 21 seconds.
Bars & Tone - running length 00:00:05:00 (5 seconds)
Ident Slate - running length 00:00:05:00 (5 seconds)
Universal Counting Leader - running length 00:00:11:00 (11 seconds)
You can find all three of these in your project panel within Premiere Pro.
The MCCA leader will start at 00:59:39:00, allowing a total of 21 seconds lead information, resulting in your program starting on the hour mark.
The ident slate is to be positioned after the Bars & Tone clip in your timeline.

Follow the steps in the slate generator an complete the sections with the required information. All fields with an asterisk ( * ) MUST be filled in.

Once completed a confirmation message will appear and the slate will be emailed to you from ‘MCASI Slate'
From the email, take a screenshot of the information INSIDE THE BLACK BOX to add to your project.
Take a screenshot on Mac by pressing command⌘+shift+4 on the keyboard.
You can then select the area you want to capture by left-clicking, dragging to cover desired area, and then letting go.
The screenshot will automatically save to your desktop.
Copy and paste the screenshot into your MCASI Server project folder.
Open your PrP and go to the ‘Graphics’ bin.
Right-click and select ‘Import…’
Locate the slate screenshot in your project folder and press ‘Import’ again to finalise the process.
OR
Click and drag the screenshot from your project folder into your PrP ‘Graphics’ bin.
Double Click the screenshot file in the Project panel to open it in the Source window (panel).
Use the up and down arrows on your keyboard to place the cursor on the timeline at the end of the Bars and Tone clip.
Press the comma key (,) on your keyboard to insert the Ident slate screenshot into your timeline, between the Bars and Tone and the start of program.
Go into your ‘Effect Controls’ tab in the source monitor (panel). Click on the ‘Motion’ section and alter the scale by either directly changing the number or clicking and dragging left (smaller) or right (bigger).
OR
Press ‘insert’ on the bottom line of options in your source monitor (panel).
OR
Click and drag the screenshot to your program panel and drop between your Bars and Tone clip and the start of program.
Once the screenshot is in your timeline, confirm it is at the correct running time by right-clicking, and selecting ‘Speed/Duration…’
