PrP - Adding Universal Counting Leader 2.0
A program leader is added in industry to give Bars & Tone for screening adjustments, identify the program and provide a countdown for accurate program start.
The MCCA leader consists of three items with a total running length of 21 seconds.
Bars & Tone - running length 00:00:05:00 (5 seconds)
Ident Slate - running length 00:00:05:00 (5 seconds)
Universal Counting Leader - running length 00:00:11:00 (11 seconds)
You can find all three of these in your project panel within Premiere Pro.
The MCCA leader will start at 00:59:39:00, allowing a total of 21 seconds lead information, resulting in your program starting on the hour mark.
The Universal Counting Leader is to be positioned after the ident slate in your timeline.
In your project panel, head to your Graphics Bin. Right-click and select ‘New Item’ > ‘Universal Counting Leader…'
A ‘New Universal Counting Leader’ window will pop up.
Ensure the settings match your project.
Press ‘OK’
A ‘Universal Counting Leader Setup’ window will pop up.
You can choose to make some colour changes to the counting leader or you can leave it as is.
Press ‘OK’
This will generate a ‘Universal Counting Leader’ clip in the Graphics Bin.
In PrP this is set to a default duration of 11 seconds.
Use the up and down arrows on your keyboard to place the cursor on the timeline at the end of the Ident slate.
Select the Universal Counting Leader and press the comma key (,) on your keyboard to insert the leader clip into your timeline, between the Ident Slate and the start of program.
Click and drag the ‘Universal Counting Leader’ clip to your program panel and drop between the Ident slate and start of program.
Once the screenshot is in your timeline, confirm it is at the correct running time by right-clicking, and selecting ‘Speed/Duration…’
