1.1.A - Obtain Project Approval

Project approval must be obtained for each assessment/production exercise, using the PROJECT APPROVAL FORM. The form MUST be filled out with details of each student in the group and the production.

Once the form is completed it is submitted to your Tutor/Lecturer and/or Unit Coordinator for signing, who may require you to provide them with a script, storyboard or treatment, as well as a floor plan or schedule for the exercise to ensure that you have thought it through and have developed an appropriate way of approaching the project before approving the activity.

Your Tutor/Lecturer or Unit Coordinator will then assign a number of days for the production activity, and sign the form.

You may NOT request another Screen Arts member of staff to sign your form in the absence of your Tutor/Lecturer or Unit Coordinator. Your Tutor/Lecturer will make arrangements for approving equipment loans in their absence. This will usually mean emailing your Tutor/Lecturer.

Allocated Shoot Days

Should you be unable for some reason to complete the set exercise/assignment in the allocated number of days, your Tutor/Lecturer may allocate more days if they deem it appropriate.

If you are allocated extra days, you will need to follow the usual procedures and protocols in terms of a schedule, risk assessment, etc., which must be sighted before the Tutor/Lecturer signs the form for you to proceed to the next stage of your equipment booking.
