3.6 - Production Music

Production Music is the most common commercial source for music.  There are many record labels that produce music specifically for radio, audiovisual presentations for film, software, games and multimedia presentations.

The label that is use frequently by Screen Arts students is Beatbox Music. The royalties for this library is collected and controlled by Australasian Performing Right Association and the Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society; in short APRA AMCOS


APRA AMCOS License

To use the BeatBox Music Library, a license for a specific use is applied and paid for through APRA AMCOS. The School of MCASI has a blank agreement with APRA AMCOS for students doing specific Screen Arts units.

If you are taking a unit that does NOT include the APRA AMCOS incidental fee, there are alternative music library sites, such as Creative Commons Music, which you can use. Audio Library — Music for content creators
