Obtaining a White Card

Whitecard is a Requirement

It is a requirement of your enrolment in one of the units listed below that you have completed nationally accredited General Induction for Construction Training (commonly called a White Card).

You need only hold one White Card, irrespective of how many of your enrolled units require a White Card.

Further information about Construction Induction in Western Australia is available here: https://www.commerce.wa.gov.au/worksafe/construction-induction-0

If you do NOT already hold a White Card:

  • Undertake and complete online White Card Training via a recognised provider. Curtin University recommends that you use Trainonline as the provider of the White Card Training.

  • The training will include a live online practical assessment for which you will need access to (1) a smart phone or computer/laptop with webcam, and (2) specific personal protective equipment (PPE). The PPE is available to borrow from the MCASI Store or from the Hayman Theatre (Theatre Arts students only).

  • After attaining the White Card, provide evidence of this by uploading your Statement of Attainment to the blue submission point provided below.

The cost of White Card Training can vary between providers. At the time of writing, Trainonline are charging $49 for their online Western Australia White Card training course. Students should enrol directly with Trainonline and pay the fee directly to that organisation.

If you already hold a White Card but have NOT submitted evidence to this School:

  • If you have not done so before, upload your Statement of Attainment to the blue submission point provided below.

  • After your submission has been cited and verified by a Curtin staff member, in My Grades in this Blackboard a green tick will display against "White Card - Completed".

If you already hold a White Card and have previously submitted evidence to this School:

  • If you have previously provided evidence of White Card training at least once before, please visit My Grades in this Blackboard to check your record.  A green tick should be displayed against "White Card - Completed".

  • If "White Card - Completed" is not ticked complete, please let your Unit Coordinator know. After investigation, you may be required to upload your evidence of White Card qualification again to the blue submission point provided below.

If you hold a White Card from another state or territory:

  • Please following the appropriate instructions for your circumstances above.
