Control Box Instructions
Isolation and use of a smoke machine may only be carried out under the following conditions:
- Isolation is permitted only when theatre building wardens (Leigh or Stephen) are present.
- The person responsible for isolation has been briefed by Stephen or Leigh.
- A risk assessment has been completed, addressing the use of a smoke machine and isolation of smoke detectors.
In order to isolate the smoke detection within the theatre follow the instructions below.
The fire detection in the theatre has heat and smoke detection. When using smoke effects the smoke detection must be isolated to prevent calling out the fire brigade. An isolation system is provided and is activated at a control panel on the wall in the bio box. The instructions below describe the isolation of the smoke detectors.
Heat detection remains active until the isolation automatically resets.
- Press and hold the Isolate button for ten seconds.
- The Isolate button will be illuminated whilst in isolate mode.
- The Isolation mode will be present for a one hour period.
- Five minutes prior to automatic de-isolation the red strobe located below the bench with flash.
- To reset the one hour isolation press and hold the isolate button again for two seconds.
- When the one hour time period has expired detection will return to detect both smoke and thermal heat, the isolate button will not be illuminated during this state.
