PrP - Basic Editing - Adding and Working with Effects
To add Effects to your video or your audio, select the Effects tab in the Browser window.
Locate the Filter / Effect you want. The Filter folders can be expanded by clicking on the triangle.
Once you find the right Filter, grab its icon and drag and drop it on top of the video or audio track in the timeline (or double click the selected Effect to apply it to the clip currently active in the Source Panel). The hand tool will have a + sign to indicate the effect is allowed.
Adding Filters = Rendering Most filters require rendering. It is a good idea to finish your edit before applying effects.Premiere Pro will render as you go (which may slow down the work station), or you can force render by activating the timeline (setting an IN and OUT point if you only want to render a section) and pressing the Return key.
Once you have applied the filter(s) to your track, double-click the track in the timeline to open it in the Source panel. Select the Effect Controls tab. Here you can manipulate the sliders connected to the effect filters.
Copy & Paste Filters All filters can be Copied and Pasted on to other video/audio tracks. Make sure the track that has a filter you want to copy is in the Browser window, choose the filter and perform a Cmd+C (Copy). Next, open the track you want to paste the filter to in the Browser window, select the Filters tab, and perform a Cmd+V to paste the filter in.
